Holidaying in Great Britain
Concerns about the environmental impact of air travel, combined with a need to cut holiday costs and a desire to boost the British tourist industry have contributed to an increased tendency for British people to take holidays on their own turf rather than immediately heading for foreign climes. While, as a nation, we are still keen on our breaks in the sun abroad, there has been a marked increase in the number of holidays we are spending here in Britain itself.
